These 2nd generation AirPods are a good place to start. They are a perfect shape and can fit in any pocket or bag. While they don't feature the improved audio quality of the more expensive 3rd-generation AirPods, they're made with the same H1 chip so performance isn't drastically different. These things are awesome. I was undecided on getting these or the Bose NC700. I ended up getting the Bose based on price and other reviews. They were great but I just didn’t feel they tied in well with my Apple devices. The sound was great and the noise cancellation was good. I didn’t feel like the were comfortable on my ears, but that may be just because I have big ears. I also didn’t like the Bose transparency mode. You couldn’t play music and listen to the surroundings. I purchased these just to compare and I was very curious. The first thing is the look and build quality. They are beautiful headphones and they are VERY well built (not all plastic). They were more comfortable around my ears because they have a lot of room and the cushion is sooo much softer. It made it more comfortable especially since I wear glasses. The sound to me is better than the Bose and the noise cancellation is better as well. Transparency mode is exactly what I wanted on the AirPods max. They work very well with all of my devices of course because it’s all in the Apple ecosystem. I do not regret paying a little more for these. The battery lasts a long time as well. Yea the case isn’t the best but I ordered another one for when I take them on the go. I’m very happy with my purchase.
